Discover Greece’s Eastern Aegean on our wonderful mothership kayak expediton! These islands are geologically and historically diverse - each is a new discovery, with an ancient and complex history. We encounter an amazing blend of architectural styles and cultural remains: Classic Greek and Roman ruins, Crusaders castles, grandiose public buildings from the Italian era, and quaint peasant villages where time stands still.
By kayak and SUP we explore the nooks and crannies of this rugged coastline, stopping to relax on beaches and swim in warm emerald water. On foot, we follow goat paths to ancient ruins, then rest on the shady porches of tavernas, sipping ouzo with the locals. In a hidden village, we even discover the remains of elephants that roamed here thousands of years ago! And it goes without saying that there will be great sunset toasts with chilled wine aboard our lovely mothership.
Our Greek adventure trip begins on Rhodes Island, in its medieval Old Town. Here we stay in a gorgeous boutique hotel steeped in history: dating back to the 15th Century, it was once a Knight’s residence and has now been beautifully restored. Then we board our trusted mothership, a gorgeous classic gulet that we have chartered many times on previous trips in the area. With her experienced and friendly crew at the helm, we navigate the waters of the exquisite Dodecanese Island group in comfort and style.
For this mothership kayaking adventure we’ve chosen a time of year when there are less tourists, the weather has cooled off from its summer high, and the ocean is still warm.
Join us in Greece for a stylish expedition in the beautiful Aegean Sea, savoring Mediterranean cuisine and hospitality, enjoying a fascinating culture, great paddling and time to simply unwind and relax aboard our gorgeous home on the water.
