National Geographic – 50 Tours of a Lifetime Award – Three Years Running!
Beyond the map. Beyond the search.
For over 30 years, we’ve explored places most travelers never reach. We’ve crafted and led award-winning adventures. We’ve forged deep connections, friendships and trusted partnerships across the globe.
Today, we put that expertise to work differently. Instead of operating trips ourselves, we are sharing decades of deep knowledge that you simply can’t google.
You come to us with a travel dream – a place, a type of experience, a feeling you’re chasing – and we help you shape it. We advise on itineraries, accommodations, activities and much more. Then we connect you directly with one of the local operators who we have come to know and trust after years of working together. People who share our standards, values and commitment to meaningful experiences. They will refine your plans, fulfill your adventure and ensure you have the trip of a lifetime.
With our guidance and proven connections, you skip the guesswork, the endless searching, and the uncertainty of online reviews.
You start your journey knowing you’re in capable hands.
How we work
A considered conversation
We begin with a personalised travel consultation. You tell us what you’re drawn to — places, pace, purpose — and we help refine the possibilities. This initial consultancy allows us to understand not just where you want to go, but how you want to feel when you’re there.
Thoughtful matching
Drawing on 30 years of experience and long-standing relationships, we identify the local tour operator best aligned with your journey. We prioritise expertise, reliability, and shared values — not popularity or online ratings.
Direct connection
We introduce you directly to the local operator, who will finalize and fulfill your trip. You benefit from working one-on-one with experts on the ground, while knowing they come vetted through years of collaboration.
A small consultancy fee, lasting value
For new clients, we charge a one-time fee of US/CAN $100 for an initial conversation to get to know your style and travel preferences. Our fee reflects the time, insight, and care we bring to the planning stage. In return, you gain access to knowledge and connections that would otherwise take years to build.
If you want a travel experience where the owners have walked (or kayaked) the same paths before you, where the guides you meet know them personally and the places you go are like none other – then choose Hidden Places!

Such fantastic news!!!!
Giant tortoises are returning to the wild on Floreana Island in the Galápagos for the first time in over 150 years. Conservation teams used NASA satellite data to help choose release sites where the animals can find food, water, and nesting areas.
Satellites can’t “see” tortoises, but they can track the conditions tortoises need. NASA and partner missions map vegetation, rainfall, and land-surface temperature across the Galápagos. Scientists built a tool that combines this data with field records, helping conservation managers plan where to release the animals so they have the best chance to survive not just this year, but far into the future.
On February 20, 2026, teams released 158 giant tortoises to two sites on Floreana Island through a collaboration between the Galápagos National Park Directorate and Galápagos Conservancy. It’s the first time giant tortoises have been on Floreana Island in over 150 years.

Paddling in the Arctic- the birthplace of kayaking - is utterly magical. The vast landscapes, the ice, the wildlife, the remoteness and the sense of the deeply rooted Inuit culture make it an unforgettable experience. We came away with the utmost respect for the Inuit, not just surviving but thriving in this challenging environment for thousands of years.

After travelling world-wide, last month we finally made it to the Arctic: the Northwest Passage and West Greenland aboard an expedition ship.
There were so many amazing experiences. For starters, from a respectful and safe distance, watching this polar bear go fishing. A magnificence creature totally at home in this vast, challenging environment.
